Residency Operations Coordinator

The Residency Operations Coordinator is responsible for leading the operational support of programs within the CT Teacher Residency Program (TRP) including marketing and media, recruitment and hiring, logistical support and special event planning. The Coordinator performs, leads and manages operational and administrative functions for program areas, working collaboratively with our team to assist TRP in achieving its mission to diversify teachers across Connecticut.   

Essential Functions 

  • Manage the recruitment and hiring processes for residents and employees
  • Coordinates social media, constant contact, and marketing opportunities
  • Creates and updates social media, website, newsletter and other communications
  • Research and connect with potential partner organizations and business
  • Manage the planning and scheduling for events, workshops, and activities
  • Coordinates site logistics for TRP classes and activities across Connecticut
  • Maintains inventories and initiates purchase orders. 
  • Liaison between TRP and Business Manager to ensure grants, contracts and all billing related information is gathered from customer and TRP staff.
  • Tracks spending and invoice requests from multiple budgets,  maintaining records and providing reports as needed. 
  • Processes timesheets, mileage and petty cash reimbursements for staff
  • Create workflows and manage processes and program data in our database system to increase efficiencies.  
  • Performs basic survey or data development, consolidation, summation, and/or analysis.
  • Maintains documents, confidential files, and records.
  • Attends meetings, as assigned, for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Attends and represents the program at events internally and externally, as needed, with government agencies, RESCs, funders, partner districts and organizations.

  • Accept ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Other duties as assigned


  1. Associate’s degree or higher in business, sales, marketing, or related field.
  2. Three years of operations, marketing and/or recruiting experience, 
  3. Highly flexible and adaptive work style, with the ability to prioritize among competing demands.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of higher ed and/or public school district operations preferred.

Part Time Program Coach (Lower Fairfield County)

Under the direction of the CT TRP Managing Director of Residency, the Program Coach works with residents enrolled in the CT Teacher Residency Program and the mentor teachers that they are paired with for the duration of the residency year.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Monitors and coaches Mentor Teachers for success
  • Creates and monitors action plans for Residents and Mentors
  • Engages in conversations about Race, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
  • Provides training to Residents, Mentors and District Staff 
  • Delivers instruction to Residents on research based strategies for teaching in the certification area of focus
  • Reports mentor and resident progress to the Program Personnel  
  • Provides necessary reports for certification and grant applications
  • Attends required professional development activities, special events, recruitment events and meetings
  • Reviews and updates program materials including but not limited to newsletters, handbooks and cohort syllabi

  • 7 Years elementary teaching experience required; 
  • Coaching experience preferred;
  • Elementary 305 Certification Required; 
  • Masters Degree Required
