Math Program Developer (PT Hybrid)

Under the direction of the Managing Director, the TRP Program Developer is responsible for developing, reviewing and revising program components for a potential CT Teacher Residency Secondary Mathematics Education Program. 

Essential Duties

  • Attend collaborative meetings with program personnel and specialists
  • Conduct a needs assessment, researching best practices and determining the direction of the certification pathway
  • Provide updates, guidance and suggestions to program leadership 
  • Assist in program development using current research, best practices and alignment to CAEP and other relevant standards
  • Develop programming with an equity focus that aligns with the mission and approach of the CT TRP including using anti-racist, social justice, and equity lenses
  • Apply adult learning principles and best practices 

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree required
  • Experience working with K-12 Mathematics programs required
  • Experience teaching and making programmatic decision at the University/College level preferred

Summer Instructors

CT TRP is seeking a Diverse group of Adjunct Instructors for the Elementary and Special Education Teacher Residency Programs (TRP) in multiple locations. 

A critical part of this program design is the implementation of courses that will provide aspiring teachers with the skills, content, and pedagogy they will need to be successful teachers in Connecticut  schools. CT TRP classes bring together a cohort of residents working in various partner districts across Connecticut.   Our curriculum focuses on the pedagogy and content required to become a certified teacher and embraces an anti-racist and anti-biased approach.  Having experience with marginalized populations and being able to speak openly about issue related to Equity, Social Justice and Systemic Racism  is imperative.   We are looking for highly qualified individuals with a Masters Degree in the content area.

Courses are offered in the ACES, CES, CREC and LEARN regions of Connecticut for Elementary TRP. The SPED Courses are offered in Central Connecticut . 

Qualifications:

  • CT Professional Teaching Certificate
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience
  • Masters Degree Required
  • Expertise in current research and practice in elementary education
  • Having the ability to speak openly about issue related to Equity, Social Justice and Systemic Racism 
  • Skilled in teaching adult learners
  • Specialized skill and/or experience in course content
  • Ability to deliver instruction and in both an online and face-to-face setting using Canvas, Zoom and Google 
  • Understanding of CT State Standards, Assessments, Teaching Standards and certification assessments specific to the content area (e.g. Praxis II, Foundations of Reading
  • Demonstrated experience with marginalized populations
